Thunderbolt 5 Explained
Thunderbolt 5 is the latest generation of Thunderbolt connections. Apple introduced Thunderbolt 5 with the Mac mini (M4 Pro), MacBook Pro 14", and MacBook Pro 16". Other Mac models do not yet have Thunderbolt 5, but it’s only a matter of time before they are equipped with this connection as well.
A common misconception is that Thunderbolt is an Apple technology. In reality, Thunderbolt was developed by Intel; Apple uses it in its Mac models.
What is Thunderbolt 5?
Thunderbolt 5 is the new networking standard that supports bidirectional connections up to 80 Gbit/s via a single USB‑C cable.
